    Mid-Summer Road Meet

Post by redheddude222 on Wed Jun 03, 2009 1:34 pm

I'm shooting for Sunday, June 28th for the next road meet. Like usual, we'll meet at Bed, Bath, & Beyond on the east side at 10:00 A.M., then head out from there.

The cookout was tons of fun, so if there's enough interest we can do it again.

Hopefully this is enough time for everyone that wants to go to ask off work.

Suspension and tires are what you want to do before anything. The cage is only going to help if you slide off one of the cliffs. Hell, horsepower doesn't even do anything for you on this road. You saw how well Jon's car did before we stopped. Razz

Actually Cage's do a lot. It stiffens the car more than you would think. Ask Kim. He's talked me into it. I just dont know if ill have a cage by then. Ill have suspension work atleast.

yes cages can do just as much as suspension but it does work best with extreme suspension modifications, cant wait to get my cage in. just have to get my car out there to fab it up! by the way, i need that gear oil phillip

Cages stiffen the body, but they won't help keep the car on the road. I still say do suspension/tires/alignment before anything.

Well I'm not modding my car just for this road. But either way I want one.
I dont hae any gear oil. Or money to give you. I said I would replace your tranny not everything you need.

phil, yeah if you do a cage, that will stiffen up the BODY, but it won't really have any affect on your current suspension set up. Any uneven road surface u roll across , any corner u go into, (doesn't matter what road) it isn't going to make the car handle any better. Yes it'll give u protection in an accident, but that's really the only major benefit it'll give u...

I'd MUCH rather be going into a turn at speed (rough or smooth) knowing I had good suspension that could give me better handling skills, then thinking, "well if I crash, I'll be surrounded by a bunch of metal that may save my ass"...

But hey, that's just my opinion...

Why pay to go on a little course. When you can cruise with everyone for free!? Besides gas and stuff. Much rather go on the cruise. I will be there!

Phil, u need to understand, he drives a 240...

They're good for a few runs on a small enclosed course, but any more than that, they'll more than likely just break down. Ain't that right eric? Personally I think he's kind of envious, being his "mad tite" 240 can't hang with us Honda guys...
